Bringing the Kingdom Through Counseling: Lessons from AACC United and the Birth of the Freedom Fire Movement

When we stepped into the AACC United Conference in Nashville, we were immediately inspired. The energy, authenticity, and joy in the room were palpable. Here were thousands of counselors committed to healing hearts and changing lives.

But as we talked with practice owners, one thing became clear: while there was a beautiful focus on holistic counseling, there was almost no conversation about business acumen: how to run, grow, and sustain a healthy practice.

That’s when our mission came into sharper focus.

At Freedom, we believe every faith-driven counselor deserves the tools and community to build a thriving practice: one that’s financially strong, spiritually aligned, and emotionally sustainable. Just as a therapist helps clients uncover past trauma to move forward, we help practice owners uncover the “business trauma” in their books, operations, and systems. Then, we help them look forward, coaching them toward their God-given vision for their practice.

We call it being a “therapist for your business.”

Our vision, the Freedom Fire community, is to unite Christian counseling practice owners who believe their work is Kingdom work. It’s a space for collaboration over competition, vulnerability over isolation, and shared wisdom over scarcity. We want to help you steward your calling with excellence: managing taxes and cash flow, growing teams, and setting boundaries that protect your well-being.

Because when you run a healthy business, you don’t just make more money, you make more impact.

If you’ve ever felt called to lead your counseling practice from a place of freedom instead of burnout, we invite you to join this movement. Let’s bring the Kingdom together, one thriving practice at a time.

🔥 Join the Freedom Fire movement: a community where Christian counseling practice owners come together to grow, collaborate, and bring the Kingdom of God into the marketplace through excellent, healthy practices.
